  1. KL Rahul (49) is now tied with Shikar Dhawan for the top run getters list.
  2. Nicholas Pooran’s 32 was his best score in this IPL. He has had a disastrous IPL with 4 ducks and one single digit score prior to this innings.
  3. Kartik Tyagi (2-29) claimed his first Player of the match award despite Arshdeep Singh (5 wickets) and Mohammed Shami (3 wickets) claimed more wickets than him.
  4. Mahipal Lomror (43) made his 2021 IPL debut and scored his runs of just 17 deliveries.
  5. Arshdeep Singh claimed his fIrst 5 wicket haul in IPL. He became the 24th bowler to claim so in IPL.
  6. Riyan Parag has now given away 16 runs thrice in 5 innings that         he has bowled. One two instances, he has given away those runs in just one over.
  7. Except Mayank Agarwal, no other batsman from either side scored a fifty while two batsmen were dismissed for 49.
  8. Mayank Agarwal (67) has now scored 300+ runs in this tournament and is among the top 10 run getters.

Vivo IPL 2021 Match 40 Rajasthan Royals Vs Sunrisers Hyderabad September 27, 2021 – Statistical Amazers

  1. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) won their first game of their 6 last matches. This is also just their second win in 10 matches in this tournament. They won both their matches chasing in the 19th over.
  2. Like the previous match Mahipal Lomror and Sanju Samson were among the double digit run getters for Rajasthan Royals (RR), Yashaswi Jaiswal joined them this match as well. No other RR batsman scored in double digits
  3. Jason Roy not only made his 2021 IPL season debut in this match, but also played his first IPL match since 2018. His 60 is his second knock over 50 and he earned his second Player of the match award as well.
  4. The game witnessed a change at the top of the leading run getters list, with Sanju Samson (82) taking over from Shikhar Dhawan with 433 runs.
  5. Kane Williamson (51*) scored his second unbeaten half century in this tournament and 17th overall in 59 innings.
  6. The match witnessed two batsmen from either sides dismissed for golden ducks (Riyan Parag and Priyam Garg)
  7. RR wins have dried up of late and are sliding down the table with 3 losses in their last 5 matches. They are now tied with four teams with 4 wins and 8 points now.
  8. Sanju Samson becomes the third batsman to join the 400-run club among leading run getters in this IPL.
  9. Except Sanju Samson, no other batsman from both the teams have scored 200 or more runs in this tournament so far.

  1. Mumbai Indians (MI) won now lost all their matches since the tournament restart in the UAE and three of their last 5 matches. The defending Champions are now languishing in the bottom of the table at 7th with 8 points in 10 matches.
  2. Harshal Patel becomes the 17th bowler and the second from Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to claim a hattrick in IPL.
  3. Harshal now has a commanding lead as the leading wicket taker in this IPL with 23 wickets. His nearest rival is Delhi’s Avesh Khan with 15 wickets.
  4. Jasprit Bumrah has had a good tournament since the re-start in the UAE with 8 wickets in his last 3 matches.
  5. Glenn Maxwell (56) was the top scorer from either side and his half century is his third in his last 10 IPL innings.
  6. AB de Villiers has hit a little bit of a slump scoring just 26 runs in his last 4 innings in IPL.
  7. Trent Boult became the third MI bowler to have given less than 20 runs of his four overs in this IPL, joining Krunal Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah (twice).
  8. Krunal Pandya was the only bowler in the entire game (from both sides) to have bowled all hid 4 overs and not claimed a wicket.
  9. Rohit Sharma (43) has never been dismissed in IPL 2021 for a single digit score or a duck.
  10. Surya Kumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan continue to have a poor tournament. Yadav and Kishan have scored only 102 runs and 107 runs in their last 8 innings, respectively.

Vivo IPL 2021 Match 38 Kolkata Knight Riders Vs Chennai Super Kings September 26, 2021 – Statistical Amazers

  1. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won all their matches since the tournament restart and four of their last 5 matches.
  2. Eoin Morgan (8) continues to have a bad run with the bat as he has scored just 99 runs in 8 innings including three single digit scores and two ducks.
  3. Sam Curran (0-56) became the third most expensive bowler in a match in IPL 2021. He is also the second CSK bowler to register an expensive 4 over spell in a game this IPL after Lungi Ngidi’s 0-62 on May 1 2021 vs Mumbai Indians
  4. Deepak Chahar and Sam Curran were the only bowlers to have not claimed any wickets among the bowler from both sides having bowled at least 3 overs.
  5. Faf du Plessis (43) and Ruturaj Gaekwad (40) extend their stay in the leading run getters list as they both move closer towards the 400-run aggregate.
  6. Rahul Tripathi (45) top scorer in the entire game also        entered toe top 10 run getters list and the first Kolkata Knight Riders batsman to do so as well.
  7. Shubman Gill (9) had yet another low scoring game and has just 202 runs in 10 innings as an opening batsman.
  8. Gill has also scored just 127 runs in 7 innings against CSK in all IPL editions so far.
  9. Shardul Thakur (2-20) has now taken 10 wickets in the tournament including 5 in his last three matches as part of the tournament re-start in the UAE.
  10. Sunil Narine’s 3-41 is his best bowling effort in IPL 2021. He has only 7 wickets in this tournament so far, while he is 8th in the all-time leading wicket takers list in IPL with 134 wickets.

Vivo IPL 2021 Match 37 Punjab Kings Vs Sunrisers Hyderabad September 25, 2021 – Statistical Amazers

  1. Punjab Kings (PBKS) won just their fourth of their 10 matches in this edition, while Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) lost their 8th in 9 matches
  2. This is also the third instance of PBKS scoring total runs in the 120-130 range and won for the first time in this IPL edition.
  3. Jason Holder (47 and 3-19) claimed his first IPL Player of the match award, though it was for a losing cause. The bowling effort is also his IPL best
  4. Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan, all were among wickets to the continue their presence in the top 10 leading wicket takers in IPL 2021.
  5. PBKS also has two batsmen in top 5 run getters list, Rahul (2nd at 401 runs) and Mayank Agarwal (5th at 332 runs).
  6. Ravi Bishnoi (3-24) has now claimed 7 wickets in 5 matches in this edition.
  7. With this result, for the first time since 2015, SRH will not be in the IPL Playoffs

  1. Avesh Khan (1-29) was back among the wickets. He still stands second among leading wicket takers I. this tournament with 15 wickets.
  2. Riyan Parag continues to have an ordinary tournament as an allrounder with just 84 runs in 9 innings and just 1 wicket in 6 overs bowled.
  3. Delhi Capitals (DC) joins Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as the only two teams with 4 wins in their last 5 matches 
  4. Sanju Samson and Mahipal Lomror were the only batsmen to score in double digits for Rajasthan Royals (RR).
  5. Ashwin (1-20) was finally back among the wickets, bt he has taken only two wickets in this tournament so far, despite having a rich overall IPL record of 140 wickets.
  6. Among the 12 wickets that fell in the match 9 bowlers from both sides combined were among the wickets.
  7. Shikhar Dhawan’s single digit score (8) is just his third in 10 innings in this IPL. He was also the only batsman in the DC team dismissed for a single digit score. Though he is still the leading run getter so far in this tournament.
  8. This game breaks the sequence of one bowler (from either sides) claiming more than 2 wickets since the tournament restart in the UAE.
  9. Shreyas Iyer has hit scores in the 40s since his return back to the IPL. He now has 12 IPL scores in the 40s in addition to his 16 50s in 81 innings.

  1. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has now won 4 of their last 5 IPL matches.
  2. CSK’s Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad maintained their presence in the top 10 run getters in this IPL so far. Delhi capitals and Punjab Kings are the other teams that have 2 of their batsmen in the top 10 run getters list.
  3. Suresh Raina came into bat at number 5 only for the third time in eight innings in this tournament. However, he has played maximum number of innings at this position (82) in his IPL career.
  4. Mohammed Siraj has been wicketless for three consecutive matches. He has claimed just 6 wickets in 9 IPL matches so far in this edition.
  5. Harshal Patel (2-25) extends his lead as the leading wicket-taker of the tournament so far with 19 wickets.
  6. Deepak Chahar (1-35) is slowly climbing up the leading wicket takers list after a dry spell. He is now tied jointly with 6 other bowlers with 11 wickets in the tournament so far. This incudes his cousin, Rahul Chahar of Mumbai Indians.
  7. Shardul Thakur was the second most economical bowler for CSK after Player of the Match, Dwayne Bravo. Thakur has been among the most expensive bowlers category giving away as many as 9.6 runs per over.
  8. Virat Kohli (6 furs and 1 six in his 53) has now the dubious record of having hit the least number of sixes among the top 15 run getters of the tournament. Only 5 batsmen among the 15 have hit less fours than him as well.
  9. Dwayne Bravo has now claimed 3 wickets in back-to-back matches. He was wicketless in only 1 of the 6 matches he has played so far in this edition.
  10. Devdutt Padikkal (70) scored his 6th IPL 50. CSK becomes the fifth team he has scored a 50 against now.
  11. Bravo’s Player of the match award is just his fourth in 106 matches and his first outside India in IPL.

Vivo IPL 2021 Match 34 Mumbai Indians Vs Kolkata Knight Riders September 23, 2021 – Statistical Amazers

  1. Surya Kumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan continue to have a poor tournament. Yadav and Kishan have scored only 94 runs and 98 runs in their last 7 innings, respectively.
  2. In 7 of their 9 games in this IPL so far, the Mumbai Indians (MI) have scored in the 130-160 range and lost 5 of those matches.
  3. Quinton de Kock scored his second fifty of the tournament and his 16th overall in IPL in just 74 innings.
  4. Rahul Chahar is now wicketless on three consecutive IPL games but he is still in the top ten wicket takers in this edition with 11 wickets.
  5. Sunil Narine was among the wickets after two wicket-less matches. He has now just 4 wickets in this IPL having played 6 matches. He is eighth in the all time leading wicket takers list in IPL with 131 wickets.
  6. Narine also is the second most economical bowler in this edition among bowlers who have played 8 matches or more and bowled at least 20 overs overall.
  7. Shubman Gill who failed to capitalize on a good start (sixer of the second delivery of Boult) and was dismissed for 13. He has n ow scored just 193 runs in his 9 innings all as an opening batsman in this edition, with no fifties.
  8. Rahul Tripathi (74*) scored his second half century of this edition. KKR has won both the matches ion which he has scored a half ton. This is the first instance of he having his least interval of matches between two of his fifties (7 innings since his last 50). He has had phases in which he didn’t score a 50 for 16 consecutive innings
  9. Eoin Morgan has had a s similar tournament with the bat as Shubman Gill. He has scored just   runs in this tournament, the lowest among all the captains, the lowest, surprisingly is MS Dhoni of Chennai Super Kings so far.
  10. Jasprit Bumrah claimed three wickets which were the only wickets KKR lost in the match. This performance is his best in this edition
  11. Rahul Tripathi had scored more runs than Venkatesh Iyer, when Venkat got dismissed, despite playing just one additional delivery than Venkatesh at that time.
  12. Venkatesh Iyer scored his first IPL fifty in just his second innings.
  13. Keiron Pollard did not bowl in the match and it is the. This is the third instance in 9 matches in this tournament in which he did not bowl.

Vivo IPL 2021 Match 33 Sunrisers Hyderabad Vs Delhi Capitals September 22, 2021 – Statistical Amazers

  1. David Warner has not had a great tournament so far and his lean patch continued as he did not score any runs. He has scored just 193 runs in 7 innings.  
  2. Shreyas Iyer played his first match in this IPL edition. His unbeaten 47 is the tenth instance of he being unbeaten in his 80 innings so far.
  3.  Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have lost 7 or more wickets in 5 of their 8 matches in this IPL.
  4. Shikhar Dhawan (42) extended his lead as the leading run getter kin this tournament so far by exactly the runs he scored.
  5. The match witnessed 9 sixes being scored for a combined total of 273 runs. Ever since the restart of the tournament in the United Arab Emirates this has been the third of the four games in which 9 or more sixes has been hit in a match overall.
  6. Rashid Khan despite being the most economical bowler in the tourn ament among those who has played at least 8 matches, was only the third most economical bowler in the game. He is also the fifth leading wicket taker in the tournament so far.
  7. Ravichandran Ashwin has been having a poor tournament as he has been wicketless in 5 consecutive matches. He has just got 1 wicket so far.
  8. Anrich Nortje claimed 2-12 and also the Player of the match award, his third in IPL. He has claimed 16 wickets in the last 10 matches.
  9. In terms of wins and losses, Hyderabad and Delhi are going in opposite directions. Hyderabad has lost 4 of their last 5 matches while Delhi was won 4 of their last 5 matches.
  10. Avesh Khan went wicketless for the first time in this IPL. He is still the second leading wicket taker in this edition with 14 wickets.

Vivo IPL 2021 Match 31 Royal Challengers Bangalore Vs Kolkata Knight Riders September 20, 2021 – Statistical Amazers

  1. Varun Chakravarthy opened the bowling, claimed three wickets, was on a hattrick once, claimed a catch and deservedly won the player of the match award.
  2. He now becomes the second Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bowler to have claimed 10 wickets along with Andre Russel in this tournament.
  3. KKR’s win with 60 balls to spare is only the fifth in the list of IPL games where a team has won with most balls to spare. This record has been updated for the first time since 2018. This is also KKR’s massive win in terms of balls to spare.
  4. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has now had 6 games with totals below 100, this is also their third against KKR
  5. RCB has now lost their last 4 matches in Sheikh Zayed stadium in Abu Dhabi, all to different teams (Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and now to Kolkata)
  6. Venkatesh Iyer on his debut scored an unbeaten 47 and becomes the second opener in back-to-back games in the IPL re-start to have opened the batting and remaining unbeaten till match completion. Ruturaj Yadsav achieved that for Chennai Super Kings earlier, albeit batting first instead of chasing.
  7. Sunil Narine though bowling economically did not take any wicket. He has now claimed wickets only in the three of the last 10 innings he has bowled.
  8. Shubman Gill (48) failed to make use of an opportunity to score a half century and now it has extended to 10 games now.
