- No batsman from the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team scored a 50 in the game, while they scored 166 in total.
- Harbhajan Singh continued to be the only spinner to have started bowling the first over of every game in this IPL. KKR did open the bowling with spin at both ends in today’ s match.
- KKR have now lost 7 of their last 11 IPL matches.
- Glenn Maxwell (78) scored his eight IPL 50 in 85 matches (82 innings) including back to back half tons now. Interestingly those fifties ended his 34 innings drought as his last IPL fifty prior to the last 2 games were in the year 2016.
- Maxwell and De Villiers who shared a 53-run partnership also scored their respective fifties in a similar fashion, Maxwell scored off 28 deliveries, while De Villiers did score his off 27 deliveries. Both are easily in the top 10 fastest fifties in this IPL.
- RCB scored from 100 to 200 in just 7.5 overs.
- RCB has now all their games and top the table so far. Interestingly they have had a poor end to their last campaign losing their last 5 games. This positions them well to win their first ever IPL tournament.

Vivo IPL 2021 Match 9 Punjab Kings vs Chennai Super Kings – April 16, 2021 – Statistical Amazers

- No batsman from the Mumbai Indians (MI) team scored a 50 in the game, Surya Kumar Yadav still remains the only MI batsman to score a fifty in this IPL edition.
- Mumbai Indians have scored in descending order since the IPL began with totals in their last 3 game being within a tight range of 159, 152 and 150 in that order. Interestingly they won the last two games.
- Jonny Bairstow (43) had his chance to beat the fastest 50 in this edition (By Punjab Kings Deepak Hooda in 20 deliveries) while he reached 40 in just 15 deliveries. He missed both, to beat the record and also to register his 50. He also missed to take the leading run scorer tag by 28 runs, which was a possibility as he was dismissed in the 8th over with SRH needing 84 more runs to win at the stage.
- SRH’s Rashid Khan continued his impressive mean bowling streak of conceding just 22 runs in his 4 overs. He continues to lead the most economical IPL bowlers list all time. Since he didn’t claim any wicket in the game, he is now pushed from third to tenth among the leading wickets takers in this edition.
- Rashid Khan was not the most economical bowler in this game, it was Bumrah with just 14 runs given from his 4 overs. Bumrah (68) has given just 4 more runs than Rashid Khan (64) in their respective 3 matches so far in this IPL.
- MI beat their own dubious record of scoring the slowest 100 runs in IPL 2021. However, they keep winning their games despite that.
- Hardik Pandya (7) is having a poor form with the bat as he has managed just 35 runs in his 3 matches so far in this edition. However, he made his presence in the field by being responsible for two runouts. He has not claimed any catches in this edition as in yet as well.
- Bhuvneshwar Kumar was once again on the expensive side in his last 2 overs in which he gave away 28 runs. He has given away exactly 45 runs in his 4 overs in 2 of his 3 games.
- Rahul Chahar (3-19) continued an impressive week the Chahar cousins are having in this IPL. He has come in to bowl as the fifth or sixth bowler on all the MI games and has claimed 7 wickets (joint highest so far with Harshal Patel) in this edition.
- This game continued the sequence of too many single digit scores in a game (8). The last 4 games have had a combined 33 single digit scores.
- Keiron Pollard (35) ended the streak of West Indian overseas players having a bad week with a 22 ball 35 and earning his 12th Player of the Match award overall in IPL.
Vivo IPL 2021 Match 8 Punjab Kings vs Chennai Super Kings – April 16, 2021 – Statistical Amazers
- The entire game witnessed just 4 sixes, two each by both the sides.
- This game continued the sequence of too many single digit scores in a game (7). The last 3 games have had a combined 25 single digit scores.
- Moeen Ali (46) continued his impressive start for CSK with the second-best score of the match.
- No batsman scored a fifty in this game, being a low scoring affair, but breaks a 6-match streak of multiple fifties and even a century scored in every game.
- The Chahars are having a great week. After Rahul’s player of the match performance (4-27) on the 13th, it was Deepak’s turn today. He claimed 4-13 including four of the top 5 Punjab Kings (PBKS) batsmen.
- Shardul Thakur (0-35 in 4 overs) was again on the expensive side conceding close to 9 runs in an over in a game were PBKS scored at 5.3 an over their entire innings. He gave up 53 runs in 3.4 overs in CSK’s first game. Unsurprisingly his IPL career bowling economy rate is over 9 runs an over too in 46 matches.
- Nicolas Pooran is yet to score in this IPL registering back to back ducks. He has also played just 3 deliveries so far.
- This week also witnessed all West Indian players failing with the bat across all the teams. This includes Chris Gayle and Nicolas Pooran in this game and Holder, Russell, from earlier this week.
Vivo IPL 2021 Match 7 Delhi Capitals vs Rajasthan Royals – April 15, 2021 – Statistical Amazers
- Rishabh Pant (51) became the third wicket-keeper captain to score a fifty plus knock in this IPL following Rahul and Samson (who scored a 100).
- No batsman scored a six in the entire Delhi Capitals innings. Of the 7 sixes scored in the match, Morris scored 4 of them, all in the last two overs of their innings.
- This game broke the single digit score record set in the previous game for this edition. 10 players were dismissed in single digit scores.
- Rajasthan Royals (RR) also broke the 4 match sequence of the team winning the toss and choosing to field first eventually losing the game. On both their defeats, SRH won the toss.
- Kagiso Rabada gave 15 runs in his first 3 overs and same amount of runs in his fourth over as the momentum shifted towards RR. Chris Morris scored all those 15 runs as well.
- Marcus Stoinis (0) has now scored in single digits in 6 of his last 10 innings in IPL. This stretch also includes two ducks including one in today’s game.
- The last 3 games had a similar run range to chase in the last over (15 for Knight Riders, 16 for Sunrisers and 12 today for the Royals). Royals were the only team to have successfully chased the target. At the start of the last over the chasing team from the two games exactly lost 7 wickets.

Vivo IPL 2021 Match 4 Punjab Kings vs Rajasthan Royals – April 12, 2021 – Statistical Amazers

- Deepak Hooda scored a twenty ball fifty, the fastest in this IPL edition so far. Interestingly, his teammate and skipper KL Rahul scored the fastest one of this edition earlier in the game (of 30 balls).
- Rahul now is now the leading run getter and the first to break the 90 run barrier in this edition. This is also his third knock in the 90s in 72 innings, outside his two centuries. Two of his three knocks in the 90s were scored in the Wankhede stadium, incidentally.
- Hooda becomes the only batsman to score a fastest fifty in the 2021 edition in the top 100. fastest fifties in IPL. The barrier to break is 24 deliveries to get into the top 100 list. PBKS also has 17 fastest fifties in the top 100 all-time IPL list.
- Punjab Kings (PBKS) becomes the first team to score 200+ runs in this IPL.
- Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Sanju Samson had to use 5 bowlers to finish the last two 4 over quotas.
- Chetan Sakariya on his IPL debut has claimed 3 wickets and an impressive catch to dismiss Pooran for his second IPL duck in 21 innings.
- Sanju Samson (119) matched his record 64 ball hundred in the 2019 edition and now has three scores of over 100 among top 60 fastest 100s ever in IPL. Two of his three tons have been on a losing cause, both for the Royals, unfortunately.
- The match has now witnessed the fastest 50 and 100 of this IPL, both well into the all-time records.

1. KKR has now lost only once in their last 9 IPL opening games. In this timeframe they have won against 5 teams including against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 2019 edition.
2. SRH becomes the second team to score 10 sixes in this IPL after Chennai Super Kings. Both teams lost their respective games.
3. SRH now has lost their three consecutive opening games in IPL.
4. Jonny Bairstow (55) registered his 6th IPL 50 in 22 games.
5. Abdul Samad held two catches in the match and has taken his tally in IPl to 7 catches in 13 matches. Samad, in addition to his 2 catches, also scored two sixes and came into bat with exactly two overs left in the game.
6. SRH’s Rashid Khan continued his impressive mean bowling streak of conceding just 6 runs an over. His IPL career economy rate is 6.24 and leads the most economical IPL bowlers all time.
7. There are only 4 active players in the all time most economical bowlers in IPL and it features three of them from today’s game squad (Rashid Khan and Mohammed Nabi from SRH and Sunil Narine from KKR, who did not play).

Vivo IPL 2021 Match 2 CSK vs DC – April 10, 2021 – Statistical Amazers
1. IPL 2021 began and was stuck in high forties. No batsman scored more than 49 in game 1 and it took CSK’s Moeen Ali to score the game’s first sixer at 48/2. CSK went on to score 10 in total in a losing cause.
2. Delhi Capitals have won their third straight IPL opening game (including a Super over win in the last edition). Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan have opened for batting for them on all the three opening games.
3. Both teams had six players to have played in the opening IPL game in 2020 and 2021 editions. CSK had Dhoni, du Plessis, Rayudu, Jadeja, S. Curran and Chahar. Capitals had Shaw, Dhawan, Stoinis, Pant, Hetmeyer and Aswin.
4. The match witnessed the Curran brothers, Sam and Tom playing against each other. An interesting snippet is that their father, Kevin Curran has also played a match in the Wankhede stadium in the 1987 World Cup against India.
5. CSK’s loss ends their three match first match winning streak in IPL.

10. Delhi had an interesting 1:5 sixes to four ratio by scoring just 5 sixes to 24 fours, while able to easily accomplish the chase of 189 with 8 balls to spare.

Statistical Amazers (Stamazers) – Sri Lanka Vs West Indies Second T20 International at Pallakele March 6, 2020
- The West Indies team has hot 17 sixes combined in the first two internationals so far, while Sri Lanka has not even hit half of that (7 in the two games combined).
- Andre Russel continues his multiple sixes hitting spree. He has matched his career highest number of sixes in a T20 international. - Malinga’s 0-46 in 3 overs is his most expensive T20 international career economy rate. This is also the thirteenth instance in his 83 innings in which he has given more than 10 or more runs in an over per game.
- Keiron Pollard did not bowl in this game, after a consecutive streak of 10 T20 internationals. He has now not bowled in 25 of the 73 internationals he has played.
- West Indies have now won three consecutive T20 internationals for the first time since June 2017. Their last successful win streak was between June 2, 2017 – September 16, 2017 (5 games).
Statistical Highlights – India Vs New Zealand First Test match at Wellington, Feb 21-24 2020
- Virat Kohli (2 and 19) has now scored 20 or less in 10 of his last 20 Test innings (in a random fashion). His average in his other ten innings is 71.25 (570 runs, three tons including a double ton and three fifties), painting a sinusoidal innings summary graph.
- The loss is India’s sixth in the 12 Tests played outside India in the last two years. 11 of those 12 tests have been decisive.
- Ishant Sharma (5/68 in first innings) has now claimed a five-wicket haul in back to back Tests for the third time in his 97 Test career so far. This is his eleventh five wicket haul and also his third against New Zealand and second in Wellington as well.

- Tim Southee (5/61 in the second innings) claimed his tenth career five wicket haul. This also is his second five wicket haul against India.
Third ODI – India Vs New Zealand (Feb 11, 2020) Statistical Highlights
- Martin Guptill (66) has now scored 50+ scores in consecutive matches vs India for the first time in 33 innings. He now improves his record vs India to 925 runs with one hundred and six fifties, still at a moderate average of 28.9, which is his lowest against among leading teams. His career average stands at 42.51.
- Colin de Grandhomme’s (58 of 25 deliveries) has now scored at a strike rate of over 100 in 15 of his 41 innings, including 5 instances against India.
- Henry Nicholls (80) scored his second fifty in the series. He has alsredy registered five ducks in his short career of 46 innings so far, however, he has been dismissed in single digit scores just twice against India in 12 innings, with no ducks.
- Yuzvendra Chahal’s 3-47 in 10 overs is the second most economical spell in the game for both sides.
