- Avesh Khan on the other hand has been among the wickets for DC with 11 wickets in the tournament and is also the second leading wicket taker overall. Prior to this IPL edition, he was wicketless in his last 6 matches dating back to the 2018 edition.
- Axar Patel playing in his first IPL match was among with wickets right away claiming 2-26.

Vivo IPL 2021 Match 19 Chennai Super Kings Vs Royal Challengers Bangalore – April 25, 2021 – Statistical Amazers
- Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have won their fourth game in a row and their seventh in their last 10 IPL matches.
- CSK has now scored in a very tight range of 188 – 191 runs batting first in four of their five matches and won three of them.
- In 143 innings in IPL, Ravindra Jadeja (62*) registered his highest score. He has scored his only other fifty in the last IPL edition. However, he won his 10th Player of the match award.
- AB de Villiers (4) had to score just 26 runs to become the sixth player to score 5000 runs in IPL but that was not to happen in this game and the wait continues.
- Faf du Plessis (50) scored his second 50 of the tournament and is now the third leading run getter as well with 214 runs.
- Suresh Raina (24) since his 54 in the opening game, has scored just 50 more runs in 3 innings.
- Shardul Thakur (1-11 in 4 overs) had his best match in the IPL so far as he claimed a wicket and had easily the most economical spell of his IPL career spanning 50 matches.
- Ravindra Jadeja claimed a catch and is now in the second spot for most catches in this IPL with 7 catches behind Shikar Dhawan’s.
- Harshal Patel (3-50) continues to lead the bowlers list with most wickets so far in this IPL with 15 and holds the Purple cap as well. He has claimed a wicket in all the 5 matches so far.
- Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) winning streak of 4 matches ends with this defeat. Their last win streak of 5 or more matches was in the 2016 edition.
- Deepak Chahar went wicketless in this game and is having a sinusoidal performance in this IPL. He either claims 4 wickets or none in alternate games. He is still the fifth most wicket taker in this tournament.
- Yuzvendra Chahal broke his 3-match wicket-less streak prior to this game by getting the first CSK wicket of Ruturaj Gaikwad. He is 8th in the all time IPL wicket takers list among active players.
Vivo IPL 2021 Match 18 Kolkata Knight Riders Vs Rajasthan Royals – April 24, 2021 – Statistical Amazers
- Rajasthan Royals (RR) won just their second win in this IPL edition and improve to sixth in the table
- Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)’s loss in the match extends their losing streak in this IPL to 4 matches now. The loss is also their seventh in their last 10 IPL matches.
- Mumbai’s Quinton de Kock and Rajasthan’s Manan Vohra (did not pay in this match) are the only opening batsmen who have scored less than Shubman Gill’s 80 runs in this IPL so far. De Kock and Vohra have both played a match less than Gill.
- KKR’s skipper Eoin Morgan hasn’t done better either as he has scored just 45 runs in his 5 innings so far. He was dismissed for a duck without facing a delivery, jst his second in his IPL career. He had just two single digit score in the entire 2020 IPL edition while he has three of them already in this edition excluding a duck in this match.
- Chris Morris (4-23) was able to break into the top 4 leading wicket takers list and took a slot between the Chahar cousins with 9 wickets now. Interestingly, he emulated his all time best from his effort in 2015 but on that occasion, he was playing for KKR against RR.
- Morris has claimed 4wickets in an innings four times. Interestingly those were 4/23 twice and 4/26 twice each.
- Sanju Samson’s patient 42 catapulted him to fourth among leading run getters in this IPL. He has a century but still no fifties.
- KKR’s leading wicket taker in this tournament so far, Andre Russel (7) did not et to bowl in this match.
- Sunil Narine had yet another wicketless match. He has 6 such instances in his last 10 IPL matches.
- Eoin Morgan has also lost 5 of his 12 matches as KKR’s skipper.
- The top five most expensive bowlers of this IPL have all played in this low scoring game. Pat Cummins (182 runs), Prasidh Krishna (177 runs), Mustafizur Rahman (167 runs), Chetan Sakariya (166 runs) and Chris Morris (162 runs) complete the list.
Vivo IPL 2021 Match 17 Mumbai Indians Vs Punjab Kings – April 23, 2021 – Statistical Amazers
- Punjab Kings (PBKS) got back to winning ways after deciding to chase after winning the toss. PBKS has batted first on all their first four matches and won just once prior to this match. They have now won 6 of their last 12 IPL matches.
- Ravi Bishnoi (2-21) played his first match in this IPL edition and was among the wickets right away claiming Ishan Kishan’s wicket in the last delivery of his first over.
- The match had an interesting coincidence of two PBKS bowlers having the exact bowling record at the end of the game. Mohammed Shami and Ravi Bishnoi both finished with 21 runs and 2 wickets with no maidens.
- Shami, interestingly has claimed 2 wickets for 21 runs in the match against Chennai Super Kings as well. Nicolas Pooran has claimed a catch as part of Shami’s 2-21 in both the matches.
- Rahul Chahar (1-19) has been among the wickets in his last 4 IPL matches and is now the second highest wicket-taker in this edition with 9 wickets. His cousin has been among the wickets as well this week and is now the third leading wicket taker in the tournament so far.
- Krunal Pandya (3) has now claimed only 3 wickets in his 5 matches in this tournament. He has claimed only 6 wickets in his last 15 IPL matches as well. He is having a very quiet tournament with the bat scoring just 29 runs. He has also scored just 135 runs in his last 15 innings.
- Hardik Pandya (1) isn’t faring better either as he is continuing to have poor form with the bat. He has managed just 36 runs in his 5 matches so far in this edition.
- Mumbai Indians (MI) has been scoring in descending order of total score. Their total score at the end of each of their matches are 159, 152, 150, 137 and 131 in that order. Interestingly, they were able to win their first 3 matches defending a not so high target.
- Rohit Sharma (63) registered his first IPL fifty of this edition after being dismissed in the forties twice in his last 4 matches. He has now scored just two knocks of over fifty in his last 11 IPL innings.
- Trent Boult went wicketless for the second straight match. Prior to that, he was among the wickets in 7 consecutive matches in which he has claimed 15 wickets
- Chris Gayle has played in 137 IPL matches, but has claimed only 28 catches, including two in his last 2 matches. Gayle also scored his best score (43*) in this IPL so far.
- KL Rahul scored his 24th IPL 50 and his 9th in his last 20 IPL matches. He is still catching up on his captaincy record as this is just his 8th win and has led his team through 11 losses in IPL.
- KL Rahul (221 runs) and Rohit Sharma (211 runs) are now closer to challenge Shikar Dhawan’s 231 runs for the Orange cap, though Dhawan has played a match less than them.

- Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has been in a 4-match winning streak for the first time since the 2016 edition.
- This is the first match in this IPL in which a team won by a 10 wicket margin.
- Nine of the 16 games in this IPL have been won by teams chasing so far.
- Glenn Maxwell missed out on challenging for the Orange cap as he didn’t get a chance to bat as RCB didn’t lose a single wicket.
- Mohammed Siraj has been among wickets every alternate game in his 4 matches in this IPL so far. His 3-27 is the third instance he has claimed 3 or more wickets in his IPL career so far spanning 39 matches.
- Yuzvendra Chahal (124 IPL career wickets in 103 matches) has gone wicketless in 3 of the 4 matches he has played so far. This is also the first match in this IPL in which he didn’t finish his full quota of overs.
- Shivam Dube joined Ruturaj Gaikwad (in the previous game for Chennai Super Kings) to get some runs on board. His 46 is not only his best IPL score in 17 innings, but also the first instance in which he scored more than 27 runs, not ideal for a middle order batsman.
- Manan Vohra (7) continues to struggle as he has scored just 42 runs in his 4 matches.
- It’s flood or famine for Sanju Samson as he registered his third knock in the twenties in his last 12 innings. In the same timeframe he has scored a century, a half century, 4 single digit scores and a duck.
- David Miller was dismissed for his third duck in IPL and his second in his last 4 matches. Though he has been dismissed “LBW” in back to back game now, he was dismissed in that mode just 5 times in his 81 IPL innings.
- Devdutt Padikkal (101*) scored his first IPL ton. He has now scored 610 runs in 18 innings and has 5 fifties as well.
- Virat Kohli became the first batsman to score over 6000 runs in IPL. He leads the list by a sizable amount of runs as Suresh Raina is 573 runs behind him.
Vivo IPL 2021 Match 15 Chennai Super Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders – April 21, 2021 – Statistical Amazers
- The last Chennai Super Kings (CSK) match witnessed the fastest 100 being scored by a team (CSK) of 11.2 overs. In this game yet again, CSK scored 100 in 11.2 overs, however now Kolkata Knight Riders hold the fastest 100 record of this IPL by scoring that in 10.2 overs in this match.
- CSK becomes the fourth team (in 3 matches) to score 200+ in this IPL. In all the three matches the team batting first scored the highest runs.
- Ruturaj Gaikwad (64) finally came to the party after registering just 20 runs in his last 3 innings. Prior to his slump he had three back to back fifties.
- Faf du Plessis’ unbeaten 95 is his second highest IPL score and second score in the nineties. He also won his fifth player of the match award. He is also fourth among the top run getters list in this IPL with 164 runs.
- On how many occasions has Suresh Raina did not bat? Just 5 times in his 197 IPL matches. His last “did not bat” instance was in the 2013 edition of IPL.
- Shardul Thakur is continuing to be consistent in being way too expensive. He was easily the most expensive bowler in the entire game and also shows up twice in the top 10 most expensive bowlers list for this IPL. He is also second among the bowlers to have given most runs (156), just one run below Prasidh Krishna, who played for KKR in this match.
- Sunil Narine (1-37) came back into the KKR side for the first time in this IPL.. He also broke the streak of being wicket-less in his last 4 IPL matches.
- Russell scored his first 50 in this IPL in a typical fashion of just 21 balls, just one ball shy of Deepak Hooda’s record of 20 balls for this IPL. Pat Cummins managed to score his 50 in 23 balls. His 50 is also his ninth in 65 innings and the first in his last 16 innings.
- The entire CSK team scored 12 sixes, which was matches by just Russell and Cummins alone, both scored 6 sixes each.
- Pat Cummins’ unbeaten 66 is his second IPL fifty and his IPL career best score. He also gave away 58 runs of his 4 overs.
- Deepak Chahar was back among the wickets after a blip in the previous match. He had an excellent 4-29 in a high scoring match and is now tied with his cousin, Rahul Chahar of Mumbai Indians in second position among leading wicket takers in this IPl.
- Three KKR batsmen (Varun, Shubman and Prasidh) were all dismissed for golden ducks. Doesn’t help when chasing a steep target.
- Ravindra Jadeja claimed a catch and is now the joint leader for most catches in this IPL with Shikar Dhawan.
- In back to back matches, a CSK bowler has bowled 5 wides, Dwayne Bravo in their last match and Shardul Thakur in this match.
- Chennai, with their 3 consecutive wins are now topping the table, however this is just their tenth win in their last 20 matches.
Vivo IPL 2021 Match 14 Punjab Kings vs Sunrisers Hyderabad – April 21, 2021 – Statistical Amazers
- Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s (1-16) last over misery ended as Punjab posted a modest total onboard and he wasn’t required to bowl the last over of his quota. In his last games he was expensive in his last 2 overs in which he gave away 28 runs. He has also given away exactly 45 runs in his 4 overs in 2 of his 4 games now.
- Sunriser Hyderabad’s (SRH) Rashid Khan continued his impressive mean bowling streak of conceding just 17 runs in his 4 overs. He continues to lead the most economical IPL bowlers list all time. His 17 runs in this match is the lowest he has conceded in this IPL.
- David Warner (37) yet again missed an opportunity to retake the third spot in the all-time IPL run getters list as Shikhar Dhawan stays firm there with 5428 runs with Warner 44 runs behind him.
- Jonny Bairstow (63*) recorded his second fifty in this IPL edition and is now the third leading run getter with 173 runs, still 58 runs shy off challenging for the Orange cap from Shikhar Dhawan. His one catch and one stumping in addition to his knock earned him the Player of the Match recognition as well.
- Kane Williamson (16*) started in his first IPL game in 2021. He has been unbeaten on 5 of his last 9 innings in IPL now.
- Nicolas Pooran registered yet another duck, his third in 4 games and this time under unfortunate circumstances of being runout without facing a ball.
- Chris Gayle was dismissed by Rashid Khan for just the second time. Rashid has now claimed 17 wickets in 9 matches against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in which Gayle became only the fourth lbw victim.
- PBKS has batted first on all their four games and have just one game so far. Prior to this losing streak, PBKS had won 6 of their last 10 IPL matches.
- Interestingly, three PBKS bowlers (Allen, Ashwin and Hooda) conceded exactly 22 runs in their 4 overs.
- Mumbai Indians record of slowest 100 in IPL was broken by PBKS today as they reached a team total of 100 in 16.4 overs. SRH also were slowest compared to Mumbai yesterday but they were cruising at 100/1 in 15.6 overs needing just 21 more runs to win in their remaining four overs
Vivo IPL 2021 Match 13 Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals – April 20, 2021 – Statistical Amazers

- Rahul Chahar (1-29) has been among the wickets in his last 3 IPL matches and is now the second highest wicket-taker in this edition with 8 wickets, alongside Delhi Capital’s (DC) Avesh Khan who took 2 wickets in the match.
- Shikhar Dhawan (45) interestingly was the leading run scorer from both the teams in a match that witnessed 275 runs being scored. He retains the Orange cap as the leading run getter (231 runs in 4 matches) in this IPL edition so far and has a 55-run lead over nearest rival, Glenn Maxwell (176 runs in 3 matches).
- Now we have no fifties scored in back to back games in this IPL. There were none in the Chennai Super Kings – Rajasthan Royals game yesterday as well. Incidentally this is the second game in this edition involving Mumbai Indians (MI) in which no batsman scored a fifty, the first instance being the tournament opener vs Royal Challengers Bangalore.
- Rohit Sharma (44) was dismissed in the forties for the second time in 4 matches. He has scored just one fifty in his last 10 IPL innings, which was in the final of the 2020 edition, incidentally against DC.
- The last time MI met DC, almost the same Mumbai team played except for Nathan Coulter-Nile played in the last edition’s final and Rahul Chahar played in this match.
- As many as 9 of the 12 bowlers were among the wickets from both teams in the match. Interestingly Ashwin and Boult, who started with the new ball for each side and bowled their full quota of overs went wicketless.
- Ashwin is going through a lean patch as his wicketless spell extends to just 1 wicket in his last 6 and 6 wickets in his last 11 IPL games.
- Amit Mishra (4-24) has now claimed four wicket haul four times in IPL. He has one five wicket haul as well.
- DC becomes the second team to chase a target set by MI in the Chennai MAC stadium in this edition. RCB successfully chased MI’s target in the tournament opener. All other games in this venue have been won by the team batting first.
- Incidentally 137 has not been a lucky score in this venue as two teams have exactly scored that and ended up on the losing side (MI in this game and Sun Risers Hyderabad in Match 9.
- Mumbai Indians beat their own record of reaching the slowest 100 runs in this IPL as they took 14.4 overs to reach that in this match.
- Hardik Pandya (0) is continuing to have poor form with the bat as he was dismissed first ball and has managed just 35 runs in his 4 matches so far in this edition.
Vivo IPL 2021 Match 12 Chennai Super Kings vs Rajasthan Royals – April 19, 2021 – Statistical Amazers
- Mustafizur Rahman (0*) came into bat only for the third time in his 27 match IPL career. The last two occasions he batted was both in 2018. He made his IPL debut in the year 2016.
- Man of the Match Moeen Ali (26 and 3-7) leads the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on both runs scored (108) and wickets taken (4, jointly with Deepak Chahar) in this IPL so far. He also holds the maximum sixes hit by a CSK batsman (5), alongside Rayudu and Raina.
- Ruturaj Gaikwad (10) failed to get a big innings opening the batting yet again but got his first double digit score. He is having a poor series scoring just 20 runs in his 3 innings so far.
- CSK scored their fastest 100 runs of this IPL in this game, off 11.3 overs.
- Suresh Raina came into bat with the score at 45/2 and was dismissed with the score at 125/5. He contributed just 18 of the 80 runs that CSK scored while he was at the crease, but he faced just 15 deliveries too.
- Ravindra Jadeja now holds the record for this IPL for most catches in an innings (4). His 6 catches overall are also second to Shikhar Dhawan’s 7 for the most catches in this IPL.
- The match also witnessed another fielder (Riyan Parag) claiming 3 catches. He is fourth now on the most catches list in this IPL.
- Chetan Sakariya is quietly having a good IPL with his IPL career best 3/31 catapulting him to sixth leading wicket taker in this IPL. Interesting all his 6 wickets were batsmen being dismissed caught.
- CSK got lucky the second time after scoring 188 runs. In their tournament opener, they scored exactly 188 runs that was easily chased by Delhi Capitals. Interesting Kolkata Knight Riders came close and scored 187 against Sunrisers Hyderabad and still won by 10 runs, their only win in the tournament so far.
- Sanju Samson (1) registered his ninth single digit score in his last 15 innings in IPL. He is also the only centurion in this IPL so far.
- There were no half centuries by any batsman from both sides in this game. Jos Buttler came close with 49. He has scored 11 fifties in 60 innings so far in IPL.
- Rajasthan Royals have now only won 4 of their last 10 and just 9 in their last 20 IPL matches.
Vivo IPL 2021 Match 11 Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals – April 18, 2021 – Statistical Amazers
- Mayank Agarwal (69) finally found some runs and in a quick fashion as well in just 36 balls. He now holds the second fastest fifty in this IPL behind his teammate Deepak Hooda. However, he has not been in great form over the last 7 months dating back to last IPL. He has scored only 261 runs in his last 10 innings with just two scored of over 50.
- Punjab Kings (PBKS) have now lost back to back games but this is only their fourth defeat in their last 10 games in IPL.
- Shikhar Dhawan (92) has been dismissed for the first time in the nineties in IPL. He has been unbeaten in the nineties on three occasions.
- Dhawan also went past David Warner and is now third in all time IPL run scorers list with 5383 runs. He is also the second leading scorer of fifties all-time in IPL with 43, behind Warner’s 49.
- Dhawan also has had great success against the Punjab Kings with one hundred and six fifties (including two scores in the nineties) in 25 matches.
- Marcus Stoinis picked the right team to get some form as he has scored 163 runs in 5 innings against PBKS at an average of 81.5.
- Ravichandran Ashwin went wicketless in the game. He has claimed just 1 wicket in his last 5 and 6 wickets in his last 10 IPL games.
- Lukman Meriwala claimed his first wicket on debut of Mayank Agarwal with the PBKS score at 122 in 12.4 overs. Since then PBKS could manage only 73 runs in 7.2 overs without much acceleration towards the end having lost just 4 wickets.
