Vivo IPL 2021 Match 30 Chennai Super Kings Vs Mumbai Indians September 19, 2021 – Statistical Amazers

1. Mumbai Indians (MI) have now been involved in 6 of their 8 games in which their total team scores have been in the 130-160 range. They have lost 4 of those games.
   
2. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) scored 112 runs for loss of just two wickets in their last 10 overs after scoring just 44/4 in their first 10.
   
3. Ruturaj Gaikwad (88*) registered his highest ever IPL score. He has been having a sinusoidal graph in his last 5 innings in which three of them were knocks over 50. He has now scored 6 fifties in his 14 IPL innings.
4. Dwayne Bravo played his 100^th IPL match for CSK. He is now just 23 short of 1000 runs and has claimed 116 wickets for CSK as well.
5. Gaikwad with his knock now climbs to fifth in the leading run getters list. CSK now has two players in the top 5, Faf du Plesssis at third is the other one.
6. Gaikwad’s fifth is also his third in four innings in Dubai International Cricket stadium.
7. MI claimed six csk wickets and those were shared equally by three bowlers, Bumrah, Milne and Boult

Vivo IPL 2021 Match 29 Punjab Kings Vs Delhi Capitals May 2, 2021 – Statistical Amazers

1. Chris Gayle (13) has not scored a 50 yet in this IPL in 8 innings. He has three scores in the 40s. The last time he did not score a 50 in a long stretch of 12 matches was between May 2015 to May 2016, spanning two IPL editions.
2. Mayank Agarwal (99) almost became the fourth centurion of this IPL, but he could score only 4 of the last delivery of the Punjab Kings (PBKS) innings. This is however his 9th 50 in 89 innings spanning across 10 seasons.
3. Mayank was also leading a team for the first time in IPL in KL Rahul’s absence. Rahul and Mayank have both combined to lose 13 of their 22 matches as skippers of PBKS now.
4. Shikhar Dhawan (69*) now has a comfortable lead with 380 runs for the Orange cap. With KL Rau out for some time, his nearest competitor (Faf du Plessis) is 60 runs behind with one less match played though.
5. Dawid Malan played in his first ever IPL match and scored 26 runs, which is nearly close to Nicolas Pooran’s (the player he replaced) run aggregate in 5 innings in the IPL so far (28 runs).
6. Rabada (3/36) claimed his best bowling figures in this IPL and has 8 wickets in total in 7 matches. Interestingly, 6 of his 8 wickets were all batsmen being dismissed.
7. Deepak Hooda ever since he scored the fastest fifty early in this IPL edition (now second fastest) has scored just 52 runs in his following 6 innings.
8. Avesh Khan (1-39) maintains his second position among leading wicket takers in this IPL so far (joint second with Chris Morris of Rajasthan Royals), still 3 wickets behind Harshal Patel’s 17 for the Purple cap.

Vivo IPL 2021 Match 28 Rajasthan Royals Vs Sun Risers Hyderabad May 2, 2021 – Statistical Amazers

1. In back to back matches a batsman has scored 8 sixes in his innings (Pollard and Buttler in this match).
2. Vijay Shankar has had a poor run with a bat and has scored just 58 runs in 5 innings and in this match, he has batted at the highest position of number 4 in this IPL. He has also a poor run with the ball claiming just 3 wickets in this IPL and also going for 42 runs in his 3 overs in this match.
3. Manish Pandey has top scored for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) though he just scored 31. It is also the third instance of him top scoring for SRH in this IPL. He was dropped for a match as well.
4. Rashid khan back to his inexpensive best with just 24 runs of his 4 overs and a wicket that maintains his position in the top wicket takers list with 10 so far.
5. Jos Buttler scored his first 100 and is now the highest run scorer in a single innings in this IPL. Interestingly, his last 50+score was in the2020 edition, 9 innings prior to this match.
6. Sanju Samson’s 48 is his third consecutive knock in the forties.
7. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is back and also what was back was his inability to contain runs in the end overs as he gave away 26 runs (13 each) in his last 2 overs. He started with 11 runs of his first 2 overs. He also went wicketless and is having a poor IPL with just 3 wickets in 5 matches.
8. Samson (277 runs) and Buttler (254 runs) scored their way into the top 10 run getters in this IPL.
9. The last two matches saw teams score their total runs in sequential order. CSK scored 218, Mumbai chased to score 219 and Rajasthan Royals batted first and scored 220 in this match.
10. Chris Morris also became the second leading wicket taker in this tournament with 14 wickets (later Avesh Khan joined him as well). Morris has taken wickets on all but one match he has played in this edition.
11. Buttler won his seventh Player of the match award in IPL. He has now won this award in 5 consecutive editions starting from 2017.
12. SRH has now won only one of their 7 matches in this IPL.
13. Mustafizur Rahman claimed his third 3 wicket haul in 30 IPL matches. He has not got 4 wickets yet in a single match. His other 2 two wicket hauls came in as dated as the 2018 and 2016 IPL editions.

Vivo IPL 2021 Match 27 Chennai Super Kings Vs Mumbai Indians May 1, 2021 – Statistical Amazers

1. Mumbai Indians (MI) have now successfully chased a total of 170+ in two consecutive matches. Their highest score batting first in their previous 5 matches was 159. They won only 2 of those matches.
2. Keiron Pollard (87*) registered highest ever IPL score after 14 seasons. This knock is however is 16^th 50.
3. Pollard also won his 13^th Player of the match award and his second in this edition. The IPL edition in which he won Player of the match on more than one match was in 2013.
4. Faf du Plessis (50) becomes the second batsman to score 300 runs with 4 fifties and no 100s so far in this edition. He also is in second place for most runs in this IPL now with 320 runs (behind KL Rahul’s 331 runs).
5. The loss is just Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) second in their last 10 matches. This loss also breaks their 5-match winning streak. However, in terms of all time IPL record, MI has won 20 matches over CSK’s 13.
6. The Chahar Cousins (Deepak and Rahul) were both wicketless in this match. This breaks Rahul’s streak of being among the wickets in 5 consecutive matches while Deepak has gone wicketless now for 3 consecutive matches.
7. Ruturaj Gaikwad (4) had his third single digit score game in 7 matches
8. Jasprit Bumrah was the most economical bowler in this IPL prior to this match and he went for a very expensive 56 runs in his 4 overs with just the wicket of Moeen Ali. He is also fourth on the list of most runs given in a match in this IPL.
9. The first in the list of most runs given in a match in this IPL is Lungi Ngidi in this match as well, having given away 62 runs of his 4 overs.
10. In addition to Bumrah and Ngidi, Shardul Thaur’s 56 is joint fourth on that list with Bumrah that ensures the top 5 in that list are from this match. Three CSK bowlers also feature in this dubious list (the other one being Sam Curran’s 58 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders).
11. Ambati Rayudu (72) scored his first 50 in this IPL in pretty rapid time of 27 balls. He also stands joint third with Deepak Hooda’s for fastest fifties in this IPL (of 20 balls).
12. Pollard now takes the leading position in that list by scoring the fastest 50 (of 17 balls) in this IPL.
13. A total of 30 sixes were scored in this match combined by both teams (CSK 16 and MI 14). It also matches the number of boundaries hit by both the teams (swapped here with CSK 14 and MI 16).
14. Shardul Thakur re-takes the lead from Harshal Patel in the most runs given in this IPL consolidated from all matches with 267 runs in 7 matches. He has also taken just 5 wickets so far.
15. Pollard becomes only the fourth batsman to score a fifty for MI in this IPL. No MI batsman has scored more than one fifty so far in this edition.
16. Surya Kumar Yadav (3) has scored just 86 runs in 5 innings since his 56 against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 13^th.
17. The successful run chase in this match is just the second highest all time in IPL and also MI’s first successful run chase of over 200 runs all time.
18. Rayudu and Pollard had an identical run graph in the match at one stage. Rayudu finished with 72 of 27 balls and Pollard scored his 71 runs of 28 balls.

Vivo IPL 2021 Match 26 Punjab Kings Vs Royal Challengers Bangalore April 30, 2021 – Statistical Amazers

1. Chris Gayle (46) has not scored a 50 yet in this IPL in 7 innings. He has three scores in the 40s. His 46 is his highest score in this IPL so far.
2. KL Rahul (91*) becomes the first batsman to score four 50 sin this IPL. He also takes the Orange cap from Shikhar Dhawan. The cap has been swapped among three players already this week (Dhawan – du Plessis– Rahul). This is also the second instance he has exactly scored 91 in this IPL.
3. Nicolas Pooran scored his fifth duck in his IPL career and his fourth in this IPL alone. He joins in an unwanted list with Sunil Narine (of Kolkata Knight Riders) of batsman to have scored three or more ducks in this IPL.
4. Deepak Hooda ever since he scored the fastest fifty early in this IPL edition (now second fastest) has scored just 51 runs in his following 5 innings.
5. Harshal Patel’s wicket taking streak comes to a halt after 5 consecutive games. Now wait and watch game on who can take the lead from him for the Purple cap.
6. Harshal also has given away more than 20 runs bowling the last over of the innings twice now in this IPL (The first instance was against Chennai Super Kings on April 25 in which he gave away 37 runs). In this match he gave away 22 runs.
7. Harshal also becomes the most expensive bowler in this IPL having given away 257 runs in 7 matches.
8. Devdutt Padikkal, outside his century has scored just 94 runs in his other 5 innings.
9. Harpreet Brar played in just his fourth IPL game in 3 editions beginning from 2019 season. This is the first match in which he has taken wickets and he took 3 and earned the Player of the match award as well.
10. Brar’s three wickets were that of Kohli, Maxwell and de Villiers, who are the top three leading run scorers for RCB having scored 628 runs amongst them in this IPL.
11. RCB’s both losses are in matches in which they chased. They won all their matches in which they batted first.
12. Mohammed Siraj is having an interesting et consistent pattern of ending up wicketless in one game and among the wickets in the next game. His sequence of wickets in the 7 matches he has played are 0, 2 ,0, 3, 0, 1, 0.

Vivo IPL 2021 Match 24 Rajasthan Royals Vs Mumbai Indians April 29, 2021 – Statistical Amazers

1. In back to back matches now the teams chasing have won the match chasing exactly 172 to win (Chennai Super Kings yesterday and Mumbai Indians today).
2. Rahul Chahar (2-33) has been among the wickets in his last 5 IPL matches and is now the third highest wicket-taker in this edition with 11 wickets.
3. Quinton de Kock finally got into form, top scored with an unbeaten 70 (his 15^th IPL half century) and won his fourth player of the match award.
4. Krunal Pandya (39) scored his best in this IPL. Prior to this innings, he had scored just 31 runs in 5 innings.
5. Among the Top 15 run getters in this IPL only Rohit Sharma and Surya Kumar Yadav feature from the Mumbai Indians (MI).
6. Chris Morris now moves to third position in leading wicket takers list in this edition, which he interestingly shared with Rahul Chahar.
7. Chris Morris of Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Rahul Chahar of MI both had identical bowling figures (4-0-33-2).
8. Jasprit Bumrah (1-15 in 4 overs) is the most economical bowler in this IPL among those who have played 6 matches at least. His economy rate in this edition is an impressive 5.91.
9. Rahul Tewatia has claimed just 1 wicket in 6 matches in this IPL and has been wicketless in his last 3 matches.
10. Among the top 20 wicket takers in this IPL so far only Chris Morris and Chetan Sakariya feature for RR.
11. Trent Boult’s wicket of Sanju Samson was his 14^th dismissal of a batsman getting bowled by him among his 70 IPL wickets. Interestingly. Boult’s 5 of the last 7 batsman he dismissed were all bowled.

Vivo IPL 2021 Match 25 Kolkata Knight Riders Vs Delhi Capitals April 29, 2021 – Statistical Amazers

1. Shubman Gill finally comes to the run scoring party after missing out on the first 6 games. That leaves us with just Manan Vohra and Quinton de Kock as the only opening batsmen with total accumulated runs less than 100 (minimum 4 matches). They both have got less than 50 runs in fact at the time this match was played.
2. Sunil Narine (0) has now registered back to back ducks and his 8th in 70 innings in IPL. He has batted in positions 3-5 in his last 6 innings and has combined for just 17 runs, including three ducks.
3. After a match winning unbeaten 47, Kolkata’s skipper Eoin Morgan was dismissed for a duck today and he has now scored less than 100 runs in his 7 innings.
4. Prithvi Shaw rose to third positions in the leading run getters list with a rapid-fire innings of 82. He also broke Deepak Hooda’s record of scoring the fastest 50 in this IPL of just 18 deliveries. He also scored 6 boundaries in an over from Mavi.
5. Shikhar Dhawan reclaimed the Orange cap with a knock of 46 and now he becomes the first batsman to score 300 or more runs in this IPL. By missing to score a 50, he has done this with just two knocks over 50 in 7 innings. All 3-batsmen chasing him to the top spot have all scored 3 fifties (Rahul, Shaw and du Plessis).
6. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has now only won 3 of their last 10 IPL matches.
7. Eoin Morgan has also now lost 9 of his 14 matches as captain.
8. After a good start of 53 in the first match of this season for KKR, Rahil Tripathi (19 in this match) has scored just 134 runs in his next 6 innings.
9. Nitish Rana (15 in this match) is the only KKR batsman in the top 10 run getters lisy so far this season with 201 runs in 7 innings.
10. Avesh Khan (1-31) maintains his second position among leading wicket taker sin this IPL so far, still 4 wickets behind Harshal Patel.
11. Not a good one for KKR’s bowling, but among most runs given by bowlers in this IPL, KKR’s bowlers make the top 3 with Cummins (243 runs), Prasidh Krishna (237 runs) and Varun Chakravarthy (219 runs).
12. Andre Russell is now third KKR batsman and bowler in the all time run getter (runs) and wicket-takers list (7 wickets) as well.

Vivo IPL 2021 Match 23 Sunrisers Hyderabad Vs Chennai Super Kings April 28, 2021 – Statistical Amazers

1. Shardul Thakur was back to being expensive again giving away 44 runs in his 4 overs. He is the second most runs giver in this tournament so far (211) just behind Pat Cummins (213). He has also only taken 4 wickets in 6 matches.
2. Among the top 5 leading wicket takers for Chennai in this tournament so far, only Sam Curran and Lungi Ngidi were among the wickets in this game.
3. Deepak Chahar’s sinusoidal streak ended in this game as he has now been wicketless in two consecutive matches. Earlier he had a pattern of claiming 4 wickets in a match or none in alternate games. Interestingly, he is still the sxth leading wicket taker in the tournament and Chennai’s leading wicket taker as well.
4. Faf du Plessis has overtaken Shikar Dhawan by 5 runs as the leading run getter in this tournament so far. Only Faf and KL Rahul have scored 3 fifties in the tournament as well till now.
5. David Warner (57 of 55 balls) had a slow scoring game for his standards. Interestingly all captains except Sanju Samson of Rajasthan Royals all have a batting strike rate below 131 so far.
6. Sam Curran has been among wickets in 5 consecutive matches now and has taken crucial wickets (Andre Russell, Virat Kohli, Jonny Bairstow in this game).
7. Manish Pandey (61) scored his second fifty n 4 matches in this IPL. He started this edition with an unbeaten 61 as well against Kolkata Knight Riders.
8. Rashid Khan has seen a increasing trend of runs being scored of his bowling in recent matches. He has given away 67 runs in his last 8 overs in this IPL. However, he had his best bowling in this edition with 3-36 and with 9 overall wickets, he is now tied in the third position among leading wicket takers.
9. Ruturaj Gaikwad scored his fifth IPL 50 in 12 innings. Faf and Ruturaj are the only openers to figure in the top 10 run getters list in this tournament so far.
10. Chennai Super Kings chased the target of 171 runs easily with an over and a half to spare and also with just one six in their entire innings (scored by Faf).

Vivo IPL 2021 Match 22 Royal Challengers Bangalore Vs Delhi Capitals – April 27, 2021 – Statistical Amazers

1. Shimron Hetmeyer (53*) scored his second IPL 50 in 20 innings. This time he ended up on the losing side to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). His first 50 was interestingly for RCB in the 2019 edition and he ended up on the winning side and won the Player of the match as well.
2. RCB, except for their match number 4 vs Rajasthan Royals, which they won without losing a wicket, have lost their first wicket before 44 runs and the second wicket  before 55 runs on board.
3. Rajat Patidar made his comeback to play just his second IPL match but has now been dismissed in single digits on both the occasions, batting at number 3. He was also dismissed “bowled” on both the matches.
4. Rishabh Pant (60*) scored his 14th 50 in IPL. Delhi has won 7 of the 14 matches he has scored a fifty. Interestingly, he has lost all his 4 matches in which he has scored a fifty against RCB and AB de Villiers was Player of the match on 3 of those 4 matches.
5. This match is just the eleventh instance in which the margin of victory was just by 1 run. RCB has won by the same narrowest of margin thrice now.
6. RCB has now lost just once in their 6 matches in this IPL so far. Prior to this edition, they have lost 6 of their last 10 matches.
7. AB de Villiers (75*) blasted his way into the top 6 leading run getters list. With Maxwell, there are now two RC players in the top 6 run getters so far in this IPL.
8. Hetmeyer scored the joint second fastest 50 (with Pat Cummins) in this IPL off 23 balls.
9. Harshal Patel (2-37) continues to lead the bowlers list with most wickets so far in this IPL with 17 and holds the Purple cap as well. He has claimed a wicket in all the 6 matches so far.
10. Washington Sundar has batted in multiple positions in this IPL from number 1, 3, 6 (twice) and did not bat twice (including in one match he didn’t bat even at number 6). He has scored in double digits only once in 4 innings.
11. Avesh Khan was once again among the wickets for DC with 112wickets in the tournament and is also the second leading wicket taker overall. Prior to this IPL edition, he was wicketless in his last 6 matches dating back to the 2018 edition.

Vivo IPL 2021 Match 21 Punjab Kings Vs Kolkata Knight Riders – April 26, 2021 – Statistical Amazers

1. Punjab Kings (PBKS) becomes the first team to score less than 135 in two of their 6 matches, batting first. They have scored between 120-132 in their last 3 matches though they chased a low target of 132 in their last game.
2. Punjab Kings scored the slowest 100 of the tournament, which they reached in 18.2 overs.
3. Nicolas Pooran (19) finally got to score in double digits (in 4 attempts). Prior to this edition he scored in double digits in 12 of huis last 15 IPL matches.
4. Chris Gayle (0) was dismissed for his eighth duck in 137 IPL innings. This also is his second golden duck, both against Kolkata Knight Riders, a team he played for few years back as well.
5. Chris Jordan (30) in his first IPL match in this edition top scored for PBKS coming into bat at number 8.
6. Sunil Narine (2-22) has claimed two or more wickets after a dry stretch of 6 matches in which he got only one wicket overall.
7. All Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bowers who have bowled more than one over got at least a wicket. The exception was Andre Russel, who just bowled one over. Interestingly, he is 7^th among the leading wicket takers in this IPL with 7 wickets.
8. Prasidh Krishna (207 runs) and Pat Cummins (213 runs) became the first bowlers in this IPL to give away 200 or more runs consolidated from all their 6 matches.  However, Prasidh is in the top 10 wicket takers list with 8 wickets, with 3-30 in this match being his best in this edition.
9. Shubman Gill (9) failed to capitalize yet again on a modest run chase as he is the only opening batsman to have played 5 matches or more and scored less than 100 runs overall in the tournament. He has scored just 89 runs in this IPL so far.
10. Sunil Narine (0) registered his 7^th duck in 69 innings in IPL. He has batted in positions 3-5 in his last 5 innings and has combined for just 17 runs, including two ducks.
11. 9 different bowlers from both sides were among the wickets in this match.
12. Eoin Morgan (47*) doubled the total runs he scored so far (45 runs). That leaves Gill as the only top and middle order batsman from KKR to have scored less than 90 runs in this edition so far.
13. KL Rahul (19) has taken 129 deliveries to score 144 runs in his last 4 innings, all opening the batting for PBKS. He still holds the second position among the leading run getters in this IPL.
14. Ravi Bishnoi’s great catch in the match is just his third catch in 16 matches. It also comes after a gap of 13 matches.
