- Avesh Khan (1-39) maintains his second position among leading wicket takers in this IPL so far (joint second with Chris Morris of Rajasthan Royals), still 3 wickets behind Harshal Patel’s 17 for the Purple cap.

Vivo IPL 2021 Match 28 Rajasthan Royals Vs Sun Risers Hyderabad May 2, 2021 – Statistical Amazers

- In back to back matches a batsman has scored 8 sixes in his innings (Pollard and Buttler in this match).
- Vijay Shankar has had a poor run with a bat and has scored just 58 runs in 5 innings and in this match, he has batted at the highest position of number 4 in this IPL. He has also a poor run with the ball claiming just 3 wickets in this IPL and also going for 42 runs in his 3 overs in this match.

- Samson (277 runs) and Buttler (254 runs) scored their way into the top 10 run getters in this IPL.
- The last two matches saw teams score their total runs in sequential order. CSK scored 218, Mumbai chased to score 219 and Rajasthan Royals batted first and scored 220 in this match.
- Chris Morris also became the second leading wicket taker in this tournament with 14 wickets (later Avesh Khan joined him as well). Morris has taken wickets on all but one match he has played in this edition.
- Buttler won his seventh Player of the match award in IPL. He has now won this award in 5 consecutive editions starting from 2017.

Vivo IPL 2021 Match 27 Chennai Super Kings Vs Mumbai Indians May 1, 2021 – Statistical Amazers
- Mumbai Indians (MI) have now successfully chased a total of 170+ in two consecutive matches. Their highest score batting first in their previous 5 matches was 159. They won only 2 of those matches.
- Keiron Pollard (87*) registered highest ever IPL score after 14 seasons. This knock is however is 16th 50.
- Pollard also won his 13th Player of the match award and his second in this edition. The IPL edition in which he won Player of the match on more than one match was in 2013.
- Faf du Plessis (50) becomes the second batsman to score 300 runs with 4 fifties and no 100s so far in this edition. He also is in second place for most runs in this IPL now with 320 runs (behind KL Rahul’s 331 runs).
- The loss is just Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) second in their last 10 matches. This loss also breaks their 5-match winning streak. However, in terms of all time IPL record, MI has won 20 matches over CSK’s 13.
- The Chahar Cousins (Deepak and Rahul) were both wicketless in this match. This breaks Rahul’s streak of being among the wickets in 5 consecutive matches while Deepak has gone wicketless now for 3 consecutive matches.
- Ruturaj Gaikwad (4) had his third single digit score game in 7 matches
- Jasprit Bumrah was the most economical bowler in this IPL prior to this match and he went for a very expensive 56 runs in his 4 overs with just the wicket of Moeen Ali. He is also fourth on the list of most runs given in a match in this IPL.

- Pollard now takes the leading position in that list by scoring the fastest 50 (of 17 balls) in this IPL.
- A total of 30 sixes were scored in this match combined by both teams (CSK 16 and MI 14). It also matches the number of boundaries hit by both the teams (swapped here with CSK 14 and MI 16).
- Shardul Thakur re-takes the lead from Harshal Patel in the most runs given in this IPL consolidated from all matches with 267 runs in 7 matches. He has also taken just 5 wickets so far.
