
- Shimron Hetmeyer (53*) scored his second IPL 50 in 20 innings. This time he ended up on the losing side to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). His first 50 was interestingly for RCB in the 2019 edition and he ended up on the winning side and won the Player of the match as well.
- RCB, except for their match number 4 vs Rajasthan Royals, which they won without losing a wicket, have lost their first wicket before 44 runs and the second wicket before 55 runs on board.
- Rajat Patidar made his comeback to play just his second IPL match but has now been dismissed in single digits on both the occasions, batting at number 3. He was also dismissed “bowled” on both the matches.
- Rishabh Pant (60*) scored his 14th 50 in IPL. Delhi has won 7 of the 14 matches he has scored a fifty. Interestingly, he has lost all his 4 matches in which he has scored a fifty against RCB and AB de Villiers was Player of the match on 3 of those 4 matches.
- This match is just the eleventh instance in which the margin of victory was just by 1 run. RCB has won by the same narrowest of margin thrice now.
- RCB has now lost just once in their 6 matches in this IPL so far. Prior to this edition, they have lost 6 of their last 10 matches.
- AB de Villiers (75*) blasted his way into the top 6 leading run getters list. With Maxwell, there are now two RC players in the top 6 run getters so far in this IPL.
- Hetmeyer scored the joint second fastest 50 (with Pat Cummins) in this IPL off 23 balls.
- Harshal Patel (2-37) continues to lead the bowlers list with most wickets so far in this IPL with 17 and holds the Purple cap as well. He has claimed a wicket in all the 6 matches so far.
- Washington Sundar has batted in multiple positions in this IPL from number 1, 3, 6 (twice) and did not bat twice (including in one match he didn’t bat even at number 6). He has scored in double digits only once in 4 innings.
- Avesh Khan was once again among the wickets for DC with 112wickets in the tournament and is also the second leading wicket taker overall. Prior to this IPL edition, he was wicketless in his last 6 matches dating back to the 2018 edition.
