- The match had an interesting coincidence of two PBKS bowlers having the exact bowling record at the end of the game. Mohammed Shami and Ravi Bishnoi both finished with 21 runs and 2 wickets with no maidens.
- Shami, interestingly has claimed 2 wickets for 21 runs in the match against Chennai Super Kings as well. Nicolas Pooran has claimed a catch as part of Shami’s 2-21 in both the matches.
- Rahul Chahar (1-19) has been among the wickets in his last 4 IPL matches and is now the second highest wicket-taker in this edition with 9 wickets. His cousin has been among the wickets as well this week and is now the third leading wicket taker in the tournament so far.
- Krunal Pandya (3) has now claimed only 3 wickets in his 5 matches in this tournament. He has claimed only 6 wickets in his last 15 IPL matches as well. He is having a very quiet tournament with the bat scoring just 29 runs. He has also scored just 135 runs in his last 15 innings.
- Hardik Pandya (1) isn’t faring better either as he is continuing to have poor form with the bat. He has managed just 36 runs in his 5 matches so far in this edition.
- Mumbai Indians (MI) has been scoring in descending order of total score. Their total score at the end of each of their matches are 159, 152, 150, 137 and 131 in that order. Interestingly, they were able to win their first 3 matches defending a not so high target.
- Rohit Sharma (63) registered his first IPL fifty of this edition after being dismissed in the forties twice in his last 4 matches. He has now scored just two knocks of over fifty in his last 11 IPL innings.
- Trent Boult went wicketless for the second straight match. Prior to that, he was among the wickets in 7 consecutive matches in which he has claimed 15 wickets
- Chris Gayle has played in 137 IPL matches, but has claimed only 28 catches, including two in his last 2 matches. Gayle also scored his best score (43*) in this IPL so far.
- KL Rahul scored his 24th IPL 50 and his 9th in his last 20 IPL matches. He is still catching up on his captaincy record as this is just his 8th win and has led his team through 11 losses in IPL.
- KL Rahul (221 runs) and Rohit Sharma (211 runs) are now closer to challenge Shikar Dhawan’s 231 runs for the Orange cap, though Dhawan has played a match less than them.
