Match 32 – Bangladesh Vs Netherlands at Chittagong


  1. Bangladesh registered their first consecutive wins in this tournament.

  3. Shafiul Islam was the only Bangladesh bowler who was not among the wickets, though he was the most economical giving away just 15 runs in his 9.3 overs.
  4. Tamim Iqbal scored his second duck of the tournament. He has now scored as many as 10 ducks in his 94 innings career so far.
  5. Doeschate scored 50 or more runs after a gap of 3 matches, since his 119 against England in the first match. This is his third World cup fifty and ninth overall in his career.
  6. There were as many as four run outs in the Netherlands innings (E. Szwarczynski, Tom Cooper, P. Borren and Adeel Raja) which is just the tenth instance in a World cup match.
  7. Shahriar Nafees reached a milestone of 2000+ runs in one day internationals, becoming the fifth Bangladesh batsman reach the landmark.
  8. Imrul Kayes’ unbeaten 73 is the highest individual score by a Bangladeshi opening batsman in a World Cup match. The previous best was in the same edition (70 by Tamim Iqbal against India at Dhaka earlier in the tournament).
  9. Adeel Raja played his first World cup match in this edition. This is his third World cup appearance for the Netherlands. He went wicket-less. His last wicket in a World cup match was in 2003 when he claimed 4-42 against Namibia.
