Match 25 – India Vs Netherlands at Delhi


  1. Yuvraj Singh (51*) was the only half centurion for India in its last 2 matches. He has also now scored three consecutive fifties.
  2. Virender Sehwag for four consecutive matches in a row has opened the scoring with a boundary. Sehwag is the third leading run scorer in the tournament with 254 runs in 4 innings.
  3. Yousuf Pathan’s solitary sixer was only India’s only effort to clear the boundary in its entire innings.  He has now scored 26 sixes in his last 10 innings.
  4. Sachin Tendulkar (27) played just his second one dayer against the Netherlands in his illustrious career of 448. Incidentally he also played his second match against Ireland in his previous match in this tournament.
  5. Tendulkar also became the first batsman to score 2000 runs in World cup cricket alone.
  6. Kohli played his first one dayer against the Netherlands and has now played against eleven cricketing sides in his 49 match one day career so far.
  7. Ashish Nehra played a World cup match for India nearly after 8 years. His last World cup match was against Australia in March 2003.
  8. Zaheer Khan had yet another 3 wicket haul, has claimed 11 wickets in the tournament so far and is now the third leading wicket-taker in this tournament.
  9. Pieter Seelar claimed his fourth three wicket haul in 25 one dayers. This also is his second three wicket haul in three matches, both in Delhi.
  10. India scored the final 111 runs after the fall of Yousuf Pathan’s wicket in 26.4 overs.
  11. Ryan ten Doeschate after his 119 against England has scored just 29 more runs in his next three innings and is 15th now among the leading run getters in the tournament and still the top Netherlands batsman in the list.
  12. Yuvraj Singh (2-43) has claimed 7 wickets in his last 2 matches. He also claimed his 100th wicket in limited overs cricket. He is now the 49th cricketer to reach the all rounders double of 1000 runs and 100 wickets and the third Indian cricketer after Tendulkar and Ganguly.
