Match 19 – Bangladesh Vs West Indies at Mirpur


  1. Bangladesh registered the fourth lowest team score in a World cup match and the first among Test playing nations.
  2. Suleiman Benn has now opened the bowling for the West Indies in all their three matches.
  3. Chris Gayle (37*) reached a milestone of 8000 runs in one day cricket.
  4. Darren Sammy in just his seventh completed match as captain of the West Indies has now won four of those matches in charge. This win is his first against a Test playing nation.
  5. West Indies have conceded just 1 run as an extra in terms of a wide in their last three matches.
  6. Kemar Roach (3-19) is now  the tournament’s second leading wicket taker behind Shahid Afridi with 10 wickets. He has claimed 36 wickets in his 18 match one day career so far.
  7. Tamim Iqbal’s duck is already the ninth in his 92 innings career so far.
  8. Suleiman Benn’s 4 – 18 in this match is his career best effort in one day internationals.
  9. West Indies, along with Australia and New Zealand are the only teams to have won World cup matches by a margin of nine wickets on three instances.
